My humblest apologies for being so far behind in posting on the blog. We are currently in Page Arizona, DAY 11, with some very sick Morgans, and I have developed a cold as well.
One French Morgan was having starting problems in the Grand Canyon, and today returned with a starter relay replaced in Flagstaff on a Sunday.
Both Aeros are having problems, one an overheating problem and the other with a clutch problem. I will keep you updated on these major problems as I attempt to catch up on the blog.
So back to Day 5, Tucson to Scottsdale.
We all left the Sheraton and drove back up the Pinal-Pioneer Parkway to Phoenix, then Scottsdale.
It was a very warm day getting hotter, close to 100 degrees F as we approached Phoenix.
We personally have driven this road four times, and finally managed to stop at the Tom Mix Memorial. https://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/2425.
Never noticed the picnic table in our Morgan |
As we were having lunch with Holly, a long time friend who lives near Scottsdale, we did not stop along the way or at Old Town Scottsdale, as many people did. Sorry I don't have any photos from those adventures (yet).
The Fairmont Princess Hotel and Resort was a beautiful place to stay, so we relaxed and enjoyed a swim with others before drinks and dinner at the Toro Restaurant on the golf course. We were thrilled because our son, who works in Phoenix, was again able to join us for dinner.
Dinner at Toro |
Ellen Jo, who had left the group to have dinner with an old classmate, showed up at the restaurant feeling quite happy and even growing horns. It was a good day for all of us. No one wanted to leave the Fairmont Princess hotel, which we all highly recommend.
