IT'S REALLY HAPPENING

We just noted that the injured ship with the British Morgans just started moving toward LA with an ETA of May 7 at 1300. It had a hole or two in it that had to be repaired. It appears the surveyor okayed it today. Provided it gets unloaded quickly and to the warehouse, we will be okay. But the suspense is very trying.
The Kiwi's Morgans are in the warehouse ready for pickup Monday, as are the French Morgans.

People have started moving about in preparation for joining together Sunday. One couple arrived in San Francisco today and are on their way to Lake Tahoe for a few days.

One couple has moved to London to visit their daughter and new grandchild before catching a plane to LA on Saturday.

Another participant is in London finishing up shopping before flying to San Francisco soon.
And others will be leaving tomorrow to get in San Francisco  tomorrow from New Zealand.

US Participants from Colorado will head out West soon, and we will leave our cats with the cat/house sitter this weekend.

And one couple recently purchased a perfect house which turned out to be the house from hell, so are not sure when they will catch up with us.

"BRITISH" MORGANS SHIP DELAYED

The ship with the British Morgans is stuck near Panama undergoing repairs, damage most likely occured from transiting the new Panama Canal. We are now quite concerned, as their current estimated arrival is the day we had planned on picking them up. Anymore delay may require significant "Plan B' plans. Our agent here is doing all possible to quickly process the cars once they arrive.

We had all thought shipping  was "safe" once the US government re-opened so the required EPA exemptions could be acquired so the shipping could be booked.  How wrong we were.

The Kiwi ship should arrive in LA tomorrow, several days late, but at least "in time" for our trip, provided nothing untoward happens next week.

The French Morgans are happily awaiting their owners arrival sitting in the warehouse.

As an aside, we purchased new tires for our Aero, as well as many other repairs, including water pump and hoses, and sump cover. Fortunately husband determined that the installer had placed both larger tires on one side of the car. Back to the installer.

MONDAY SHIPPING UPDATE

Well, the ship with the British Morgans is having major maintenance in Panama and is now expected to discharge in LA on Thursday May 2. That leaves only one day to clear customs to be ready to pick up on Monday May 6th. A rather tight schedule for cars that were supposed to arrive 2 weeks in advance.
The ship with the Kiwi Morgans is still working (unload/load) in Surrey Vancouver and is expected in LA on the 26th.
While the French Morgans are in LA, we don't know if they have cleared customs and are ready to be picked up.

MORGANS STATUS

No word on the status of the French Morgans in LA and clearing customs. It has been almost a week they have been there.
The Kiwi Morgan's ship is now docked at the Fraiser-Surrey Docks in Surrey, Vancouver, Canada, before returning back to LA.
The British Morgan's ship is sitting off Panama with a supplier vessel along side of her 18 hours probably restocking and bunkering. It is about a 6 day run to LA. So we hope it is nothing serious and just SOP.

FRENCH SHIP ARRIVING IN LA

The Ship with the French Morgans will arrive in Los Angeles today. The Ship with the British Morgans left Savannah toward Cartagena then the Panama Canal a bit early. Better to reach the canal early than late, where the charges to transit increase dramatically. And the Kiwi's Morgans are still at high seas.

SHIPS PROGRESSING

The French Morgans just passed Cabo San Lucas toward LA arriving the 14th.  The Brit's Morgans are "calling" Savannah tomorrow, then heading toward Cartagena before transiting the Panama Canal. The Kiwi's Morgans are still at high seas heading for Oakland arriving the 16th, then up to Seattle and back to LA.

PROBLEMS IN PREPARATION

It is highly likely that others have had surprises in preparing their Morgans for the trip. We waited until today to send our Aero 8 in for radiator flush, oil change, brake flush, and leaking water.
Turns out it needs new tires, new water pump, new pan, and more. I definitely think we agree with needing new tires, despite them not being too old or having many miles (maybe 23,000).

And Michael called that his power steering hasn't yet been installed, and isn't likely to get done.  He is not a "happy camper".
Guess we have started MOA "fixing things" already.

The Brits Morgans are on the high seas headed for Savannah on schedule arriving in a week.
